Twin bedroom (zip link) plus single bed with en suite bathroom with shower and bath
If you love contemporary interiors and spacious living areas, then this is the one for you! The main room is huge and incorporates the sitting room, kitchen and dining room: one wall is floor to ceiling glass - a vast expanse designed to maximise the stunning view across the firth to Ben Wyvis (a Munro) and the Ross-shire hills.
The location of the house couldn't be more convenient, being just a 30-minute drive from Inverness Airport, and situated just a short stroll from the well-known Kinkell Country House Restaurant. Only a 10-minute drive away is Dingwall for all shopping, or there's a 15-minute drive to the Highland capital of Inverness.
With easy access to the main route through to the north and west, you can explore the whole of the Northern Highlands during your stay yet return by nightfall - Ullapool is approximately 50 miles and John O'Groats just under 100.
In the immediate area there is golf, fishing, sailings on the Moray and Cromarty Firths to see the resident dolphins, beaches at Fortrose and Rosemarkie, and the lovely, historic, small town of Cromarty, where there is a pizza restaurant with wood-fired oven.
Birdwatchers will enjoy seeing the red kites that frequently soar over the fields in front of the house, and the firth is an important site for sea birds, including ospreys which can be seen diving into the firth to catch fish. Seals bask on the rocks on the north shore of the Cromarty Firth and can be seen at close quarters.
The house itself is light, airy and hugely spacious. So much skill and attention has gone into the creation of this comfortable 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom house that it will not fail to please.
A large decked area runs around two sides of the property, and is a wonderful place to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the setting sun: in June this happens about 11.00 at night!
Just a 10-minute drive away is the Storehouse of Foulis, ideal for shopping for Scottish produce or to enjoy a hearty lunch!
