Fabulous, recently renovated house and adjoining byre conversion commanding one of the best views possible of the Cairngorm Mountains.
It is hard to depict in a photograph the sheer vastness of the landscape that you see from the windows - classic Speyside hill-farming land dropping down to the rich and lush Strathspey, then rapidly rising in the distance to the huge and majestic peaks of the Cairngorms.
Whether catching the setting sun or glittering with snow, these mountains are breathtaking at any time of the year. Not only are they stunning, they are also accessible for the less abled by the Funicular Railway, with its Ptarmigan Restaurant at the top of Cairngorm.
Situated at an elevation of almost 1300 feet, Clashindeugle combines luxury with tradition and offers the best in self catering that you will find.
The house and its adjoining wing have been designed specifically to cater for a large extended family needing to accommodate all ages, from babies to great-grandparents! However, in quieter times, it may be possible to rent just the farmhouse plus an additional bedroom in the wing for parties of seven.
The owners have succeeded in creating the feel of a traditional Scottish farmhouse in the main house, yet the wing, although an integral part of the house, has retained its individual character. In addition, the crowning glory of the whole renovation has been the creation of a spacious Scottish 'keep' style sitting room with barrel vaulted ceiling and corner fireplace made from unique local materials.
One half of a very spacious outbuilding has been converted to a wood-lined, oak-floored games room, 6.5m x 4.5m. This room is ideal for children, teenagers and adults. The games include table tennis, table football and a small snooker table. The room is well insulated and offers a great recreational facility.
The area is one of Scotland's premier holiday destinations and can satisfy a huge variety of interests and requirements for all ages: however, for the outdoor enthusiast, the area is unsurpassed in Britain.
Please bring indoor shoes/slippers and leave outdoor shoes in the outer hall cupboard. Dogs are not allowed in rooms with polished wooden floors or carpets but there is an extensive rear entrance lobby with flagstones and underfloor heating where they may be kept and a double outdoor kennel.
